Benglai New Year – The Biggest Festival of Bangladesh, commonly known as Pohela Boishakh.

Benglai New Year – commonly known as Pohela Boishakh is one of the biggest festival of Bangladesh and the Bengali community all over the world as well. It generally occurs in 14th or 15th of April each year. The sentence of greeting sounded as “Shuvo Noboborsho”, meaning “Happy New Year”. This day is the first day of Bengali Calender which was introduced by famous Mughal Emperor Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar on March, 1584. So, it’s a heritage owned by every Bengalis.

People from all religions and races used to participate in this colorful event by wearing traditional Bengali dresses like Women in saris with their hair all decorated with flowers and Men in Traditional Panjabies.

A vivid procession organized by the students and teacher of Institute of Fine Arts, Bangladesh in Dhaka each year. This procession always holds an unique message/wish/protest each year. This year the message was -

“Bring War Criminals during the Bangladesh Liberation War 1971, under Justice and an urge for their Highest Punishment”

I, working as a SAP Consultant here in Bangladesh was enjoying the whole colorful and joyous Bengali festival with my Camera. Here I am sharing some of those gorgeous moments with you.  Hope you love these.

1. People, generally young ladies and gents used to get paint their faces or hands by some volunteer painters. The painted form holds several symbols of life like flowers, trees, wishing messages like-"Shuvo Noboborsho", National Flags and many more.

2. Hawkers are all over the Dhaka City. Same is true here too. A hawker was trying to attract the people by making continuous sound on "VooVooZella". There are many like him. So you could think about the atmosphere of whole place there.

3. A social gathering for taking "Panta-Hilsha-Rice" - A traditional Bengali recipe, specially on this day.

4. A shooting practice over the Balloons! It's a fun with family.

5. Family and friends on a local ride/manual coaster - named as "Nogordola", an essential part in any Fair here in Bangladesh.

6.The Manual Coaster - "Nogoldola" - another heritage of Bengal.

7. The Glory of Joy - "Shuvo NoboBorsho"

8. "Ektara-Dotara" - the instrument used by Spiritual Singers like "Lalon". Another heritage of bangladesh. People gathering near the stall of this equipment.

9. One of the Moral of Boishakh 1420 was - The Claim for Hanging Till Death of "Rajakars"(The War Criminals). This painting is the symbol of that - seen in front of Institute of Fine Arts, Bangladesh.

10. The Cartoons were shouting for the highest punishment of War Criminals, 1971.

11. The Culture of Bengali's ha got a nourishment from the root by their parents and ancestors.

12. Our little fellow, Our Newer Dream - To Bloom!

Mass Deletion of Absence Quota in SAP HCM, Personnel Time Management

SAP ERP is one of the biggest ERP in the world and SAP HCM is one of the largest modules of it. Personnel Time Management (PT) is one of the vital sub module of HCM, which deals with the Work schedules, absences, holiday calendars and many other important features.

For maintaining absences, absence quotas need to be generated first. PT_QTA00 is used by SAP Consultants/ SAP HCM Consultants for this purpose for BATCH Processing and Upload. So, what will happen when this Batch Upload is a total Wrong and traced lately?

Straight forward solution is – Delete each record for each quota for each employee One by One and there may be thousands record. I think it’s not feasible.

Another solution is – Go for Batch Deletion of generated leave quotas and rerun PT_QTA00. Let’s see how we can do Batch Deletion:

1. Run PA71. Select absence quotas and subtypes for specific absence quota. Or keep the subtype blank to choose all the absence quotas for the specified Period/Date Range.  Now press Delete.

2. Copy and paste the Personnel Numbers here and press Enter.

3. Press F9 to select all entries in the list and press Delete. This will delete all entries in the list. Or you can delete one by one.

 That’s it! Enjoy :).

Customization for Uploading and Viewing Photo of an Employee

There are times when SAP HCM Consultants need to go for customization for uploading and viewing Employee Photograph on PA30, PA20, PA10 and PA40 screen.  For this regard we need to do some configuration. Let’s see how we can do this.

The default PA30 screen shows as follows:

To display photograph we need to modify the Header of entry screen as marked above. Select any of the header field there and check the technical settings, we can see a program name is /1PAPAXX/HDR_13060A. Here 60 is our header modifier.

Go to SM30 and get the maintenance view of T588J table and for header 60 u need to make entries in the table.

Make a entry in the table as --- 60 2 70 0000 PERNR PIC

So, configuration is done for uploading photograph as a .BMP archive.

Now, run Tcode – OAAD to upload photo into R/3 select the button “Store and Assign”.

Enter Business Object – PREL and Document Type – HRICOLFOTO and Create.

Enter Personnel Number and press OK.

Browse for photos and press open.

The following confirmation screens will come sooner.

Now go to PA30. The uploaded photo is showing finally here.

For any queries feel free to share your complement here.
